My teaching methods are working on the student's least favourite texts/exam questions and tackling what they find most difficult. I am friendly but also persistent in ensuring that the student works at their weak spots before building on their strengths.
I was in the first year group to take the new '9-1' GCSE exams, and I gained a 9 in English Language and an 8 in Literature. I have now moved on to taking Literature for my A-levels.
Since this new GCSE specification can seem daunting to some, I feel like I could pass on my knowledge to others.
I gained GCSE results that are above average, even gaining a 9 in English Language which only the top 3% of
the country achieve:
English Language: 9 (equivalent to high A*)
English Literature: 8 (equivalent to A*)
Mathematics: 8 (equivalent to A*)
Design & Technology - Textiles: A*
Media Studies: A
My English Language course required a speaking assessment, where I had to conduct a presentation in front
of an audience. For this, I earnt a 'distinction', the highest grade available, proving my great communication
I also achieved a 'distinction*' for the ECDL Certificate in IT Application Skill (Europe Computer Driving
License). This is the highest grade you can earn, and therefore showcases my skill with computers and the
internet as well as my self-discipline and determination.
I am currently continuing my education at Ruislip High School and am currently studying English Literature,
Drama and Media Studies as my chosen A-Levels.
I also won a Silver Certificate in the UK Intermediate Mathematical Challenge, conducted by the
Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
This demonstrates my clear mathematical skills, as well as working well under pressure.
I also earnt a first in The Brilliant Club's scholar's programme in an essay concerning moral
philosophy. This shows how I am already working at a university standard despite me only beginning my A-levels.
I was also selected out of 180 students to be one of the few senior prefects of the academic year from
2016 to 2017.
