About Anna
I am a recent Smith College graduate, currently living at home and recovering from post-concussion syndrome, chronic intractable migraines, and a slew of associated mental ailments. Yoga and spring forest Qi gong have been a huge part of my healing journey and I would love to share that with anyone who is interested, or perhaps on a similar path. I played sports all my life: was a Tri-sport athlete in high school (soccer, basketball, and lacrosse) and in college went on to play varsity lacrosse. My first year of college lacrosse, I injured my lower back over a prolonged course of incorrect deadlifting and poor posture. This left me unable to play my sport the whole first year, resulted in massive weight gain for several years, and expanding chronic pain. Low back pain turned into torn rotator cuff. Then retroscapular bursitis. Then this. Then that. I lived in a constantly tense body. Constantly anxious that I was doing things to make this chronic pain worse somehow, but also wanting to simply live pain free and play my sport. A serious concussion and second impact syndrome forced me to slow down and start over. No more runs. Just resting. 10 minute walks. Turned into 30 minute walks. Eventually I found yoga, which not only was a way to calmly and confidently express and stretch myself in a way that my body had so desperately needed, but my brain needed as well. Yoga feels soul cleansing for me. And that’s what I hope to allow for others as well. Although I don’t have experience tutoring yoga specifically, I did run the tutoring clinic as President of National Honor Society in high school, and my tutoring experience continued into my weekly life in college. As a mentor for Project Coach, a non-profit teaching inner city youth how to utilize knowledge of coaching and sport into their academic and everyday lives. I am excited to work with you!

Thank you for being here I will be posting detailed videos of me going through the yoga motions and explaining the steps - mostly focusing on what feels good in my body that day honestly. Videos will be labeled, and we will flow through some stretches and breaths. You can choose based on what area of the body you may want to focus on that day. These are honestly just a collection of my favorite stretches and yoga things that I’ve learned and researched over time.
