About Laura
As a newspaper editor, I have studied writing my whole life. I started by winning a 4th grade spelling bee, eventually leading to editing and publishing a community newspaper. I have a passion for working with youth and helping them succeed through the written word. I thrive on the written word and love to see an article through from an idea to a final polished project. I love facts and fiction.

You will learn different types of writing including prose, opinion pieces, and poetry. You will learn how to produce a great essay for high school assignments and college admission essays. You will also be instructed in spelling, grammar and punctuation. Lessons will address brainstorming and developing ideas to proofreading your final product.
I also specialize in public speaking.
