About Suzy

I re-wrote my life story of ‘single-mum overnight with three very young children’, into becoming ‘the creator of the UK’s first ever divorce fair’ - gaining international media attention. I turned being chronically shy into performing a TEDx. From giving birth on a houseboat without pain relief, to living in my garden shed. Because I like the way the moonlight beams through the skylight at night.

A Nicholl Fellowship Semi-Finalist and Stowe and Nostos alumni, my first short film received many accolades including an Honourable Mention at the London International Film Festival. Another short film won best fantasy category at the New York Movie Awards. My immersive audio drama has been nominated for two awards at the New Jersey Web Fest.

My supernatural thriller has been optioned and is in development with a UK production company.

I provide a script doctor service, completed a Screenwriting Masters and have studied a practice-led PhD reinventing cinematic horror into sonic-cinema at Goldsmiths. My screenwriting slate includes three low budget features, all told through my unique lens on the world, and two pilots for continuing episodic series. Also immersive binaural audio dramas.

About the lesson

If you want to learn not just ‘how to’ - but real craft and elevate your work to a professional level, I won’t stroke your ego. But I will help you to become the best writer you can. If you really have a passion to write - I’ll help that transfer into a solid written screenplay that may win prizes and will act as a writing sample to grow your writing career. I’ll also help you build your portfolio, bio and your online professional profile (remember, you are a screenwriter because you write - not because someone may or may not yet have paid you to write!) I’m a NICHOLL Semi-Finalist Screenwriter (run by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, widely considered to be one of the most prestigious screenwriting competitions in the world) based in the UK/California. Film Maker and Immersive Audio Drama Producer. Stowe & NOSTOS alumni. A maverick writer inciting revolution through multi-genre features & pilots.

Suzy is a highly accomplished, award-winning screenwriter with a portfolio spanning film, TV, and radio. Beyond her own creative success, she is a brilliant script doctor with a 'forensic' eye for detail. Her ability to analyze a narrative and offer wise, actionable advice is unmatched. Suzy has provided invaluable feedback on several of my own projects, consistently helping me elevate my scripts to their highest potential. She's fun to work with, too!

Suzy is a smart and creative person who only wants the best, both for herself and those she works with. Insightful, intelligent, and a real go-getter, she makes for a terrific mentor as well as a creative partner. We met during the London Screenwriters' Festival "Talent Campus," and she was a stand-out participant, offering advice and support to many of us. I would work with her in a heartbeat.

I will review and provide notes on the beat sheet / treatment / pitchdeck / screenplay draft up to 45mins of my time to support your process. (running total 2hrs)
