About Melvin
My name is Mr. Melvin, and I am a middle school math teacher in New York City with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. I have several years of experience teaching grades 6–8 and preparing students for Algebra and Regents-level work.
I am passionate about helping students build confidence in math, especially those who are Spanish-speaking and learning in English. Being bilingual allows me to explain concepts clearly in both languages and support families more effectively.
I am patient, structured, and committed to each student’s growth. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel supported, ask questions freely, and develop the skills they need to succeed in math.
