About Yalan

Welcome to a Chinese learning experience like no other!

With a solid background as a certified Chinese high school teacher and current studies in TESOL at the prestigious University of Queensland, I bring both expertise and passion to every lesson. My teaching isn’t just about mastering vocabulary or grammar—it's about unlocking a new world of communication, culture, and confidence.

I understand that learning a new language can be challenging, especially for young students. That’s why I create a supportive, engaging, and fun environment where your child feels encouraged to explore, ask questions, and grow. My interactive lessons are tailored to each student’s pace and learning style, ensuring that they not only learn but also love the process.

Professionalism is at the core of what I do. You can trust that your child is in capable hands, guided by a tutor who is committed to their success. Let’s embark on this exciting journey together and watch your child thrive in Chinese language and culture!

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is centered around creating an engaging, immersive, and interactive learning environment tailored to each student’s needs. I believe in blending traditional teaching methods with modern techniques to make learning Chinese both effective and enjoyable.

Techniques and Methodology:
I use a communicative approach, focusing on real-life language use and practical applications. My lessons are rich with visual aids, interactive activities, and cultural insights, ensuring students not only learn the language but also understand the culture behind it. I incorporate storytelling, role-playing, and games to make learning dynamic and memorable.

Length of a Lesson:
A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes, which allows us to cover various aspects of language learning, from vocabulary and grammar to listening and speaking practice. This duration strikes the perfect balance between maintaining focus and achieving meaningful progress.

Qualifications and Experience:
I hold a Chinese high school teaching qualification and am currently pursuing a Master’s in TESOL at the University of Queensland. My experience spans from teaching young learners to helping beginners gain confidence in their language skills.

Target Students:
My lessons are designed for kindergarten and primary school students, providing a strong foundation in Chinese language and culture. Whether your child is just starting or looking to enhance their skills, my classes are tailored to meet their individual learning needs.
