I understand that every student is different. When learning an instrument or note reading, the most important aspect is patience. It can seem frustrating at times, especially when little progress seems to be being made, but i promise you it is all part of the process. I have experience in teaching individual from beginners level (with no prior knowledge of reading music) who are currently already at Grade 4, which just goes to show that it IS possible. I like to divide my lessons into 3-4 sections: warm ups, exercises, pieces and theory. Collectively these will help the student develop the skills needed to play the piano and read music.
I have been playing the piano since I was 5 and initially taught myself how to play. I have completed grade 1-5 with ABRSM, and grades 6-8 with Trinity College London. I have also completed my grade 5 ABRSM Theory exam. Don't worry if you're an absolute beginner as I am happy to teach piano/keyboard/ note learning to anyone at whatever level they are at. In addition, I understand that individuals may not want to pursue graded exams so I am open to taking the student in which ever direction they want me to
Cancellations should be made 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson.
