About Louise Kim
Louise Kim Salter is an award-winning actress, filmmaker and creative mentor. An artist first, she sees creativity as an opportunity to deepen our connection to ourselves and each other.
She teaches on the Writing for Performance and Creative Writing MSt courses at the University of Cambridge and on the Raindance Masters programme, mentoring emerging actors, writers and filmmakers - particularly those looking to create their own opportunities, as she has throughout her career. Her workshops bring together the character-development tools she uses as an actor with the self-development practices that have shaped her own creative journey.
Louise trained under Olivier Award-winning director Rebecca Frecknall at the National Youth Theatre. On screen, she leads the supernatural thriller Darker Days opposite Tom Durant Pritchard (Andor, Miss Scarlet). On stage, she toured the Arts Council-funded one-woman show Reverie: The Haunted, opening to a sold-out night at Cambridge Junction. She has won multiple Best Actress awards, including for Butterfly (Amazon Prime) and How to be Human.
Behind the camera, she directs and produces film, edits podcasts and holds an MA with Distinction in Filmmaking from Raindance. How to be Human, based on her original concept, won Best Film and screened at BAFTA, Oscar and BIFA-qualifying festivals worldwide. Louise has built a career across the full arc of independent filmmaking, from concept and script to production and festival release, including leading her own feature film through her production company.

Sessions are built around you as a creative person, not just your output. Drawing on character-development techniques from her acting training and her own experience building a filmmaking career from scratch, Louise helps writers, actors and filmmakers get unstuck, deepen their creative process, and take ownership of the work they want to make. Each session is tailored: some clients want help developing a character, script or project; others are working through creative blocks, confidence, or finding their artistic voice. Sessions are one-to-one, held in person in London or online, whichever suits you best.
