About James
My lessons focus on technique and musicianship. I like to use Charles Duncan’s “A Modern Approach to Classical Guitar”, but also draw from many other sources depending on students’ wants and needs. I rely on over 30 years of experience to inform me on how to proceed with every unique and individual student, including experience not only as a classical guitarist, but years as an orchestra teacher and years of teaching piano and other instruments.

My name is James Hawes. I provide online private music lessons in classical guitar to students anywhere in the world. I have over 30 years of experience and excellent credentials. I am a very patient and easy going teacher. I love what I do and work very hard to be a positive influence in my students’ lives.

My rates for lessons are $35 per hour lesson and $25 per hour lesson. Students can pay their tuition weekly or monthly with paypal or venmo.
