About Rosie
Hello,
Thank you for reading my profile. My name is Rosie, and I am an English language teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. I teach learners from A2 to C1 level.
I have taught English in Japan and in the UK. I have worked in language schools, universities, and Japanese primary and secondary schools. I have taught students from many different language and cultural backgrounds, including Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, and Portuguese speakers.
I studied English Language and Communication at university at King’s College London. After this, I trained to become an English language teacher and gained a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA).
After several years of teaching, I returned to university to complete an MSc in Speech and Language Therapy. This course helped me understand how people learn language in the brain. It has helped me become a clearer, more effective, and more supportive teacher.

A typical lesson is one hour long, and I teach students at all levels, from beginner to advanced.
Before starting regular lessons, we will have a friendly introductory session. In this session, we will talk about your goals, and how you like to learn. I will also check your English level with a quick test, and you will receive personalised feedback about your results.
I use well-regarded and popular textbooks such as Language Hub, English File, and Speak Out, which I will recommend for you to buy. I will help you choose the best book for your level and learning goals and recommend which one to buy.
My teaching style is friendly, supportive, and flexible. I focus on clear explanations, grammar accuracy, and practical communication that you can use in real life. You are always welcome to ask questions, and we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
