About Onyinye

I am an Igbo linguistics scholar, a native speaker, translator, transcriber, proofreader, and a born teacher. I have taught in a private school and have given both private and group tutorials to students. I am a certified Igbo Linguist from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. I have closely worked with Igbo language professors within and outside the university.

About the lesson

My teaching method is easy and simple. My classes are based on practicals. I teach Igbo izugbe (standard Igbo or general Igbo) Being an Igbo language linguist, I approach each topic by applying the science of language learning, making my students to learn through real life experience and examples. I help them to identify their articulatory organs relevant to Igbo language sound production. I train them to perceive Igbo sounds and interpret what they hear by providing the meaning.A very patient teacher. I teach both adults and children.

Perfect! I had the great pleasure of taking Igbo language lessons with [Teacher's Name], and I can say without hesitation that she is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. Her expertise, passion, and dedication to teaching are truly outstanding.

She not only has a deep knowledge of the Igbo language, but also knows how to share her love for the language and culture in a way that is engaging and easy to understand, making learning both enjoyable and inspiring. Each lesson is well-structured, rich in content, and tailored to the students' needs.

I had an excellent experience: I learned a lot, always felt supported and motivated, and made real progress in a short time. Thanks to her, I not only gained a solid foundation in the language but also developed a genuine interest in Igbo culture.

I highly recommend her classes to anyone who wants to learn this beautiful language with a truly exceptional teacher!

Onyinye's response
Ogor is a quick learner and very open-minded! Her choice to study Standard Igbo, even though she comes from Delta State where a different Igbo variant is spoken, is truly inspiring.

She actively seeks to enhance her learning outside the classroom. I'm thrilled to see her progress in the language and am confident that, with my guidance, she will achieve a high level of proficiency soon.

Perfect! Onyinye Favour is an exceptional language teacher. She understands the building blocks of the Igbo language and knows how to skillfully connect them bit by bit for her students. My nine year old daughter has been taking lessons with Onyinye for 4 months now, and I applaud Onyinye's patience, professionalism, and skill. She is punctual to lessons, sends reminders beforehand, is warm and friendly during lessons, and shares homework without fail. My daughter's Igbo is growing by the day. After the first few classes, she could recite the entire Igbo alphabet! She can now make complete sentences in Igbo and slides these into our conversations. Her vocabulary is also improving. I am very happy with Onyinye as an Igbo teacher and strongly recommend her on this platform.

Onyinye's response
Chimdi is an amazing child. Her enthusiasm for the Igbo language learning always bring out the best in me as a teacher! She is very corporative in class, always practicing her home works, ask questions, and very creative. She goes beyond what I teach her to some complex Igbo sentences! I was surprised! Her learning process is growing rapidly! A very thank you to her mother who follows her girl up despite her busy schedule to see that what I teach in class and what she learns at home helps Chimdi. Chimdi is a student every teacher could ask for!

Perfect! Onyinye is very timely and professional. She always starts on time and is very organized. One of her major strengths is that she has formal Igbo linguistics training. So she’s able to teach grammar and other linguistic rules that will help you learn. She’s also structured with a clear lesson plan that allows you to build on what you’ve previously learned. Despite this, she’s also very flexible - modifying the lesson as needed to ensure that you’re getting what you need from class and learning what is most important to you.
