About Wendy
I have been tutoring students aged 8-30 for 10 years. I have worked in a variety of settings, including alternative-education schools, incarceration facilities, and online private tutoring, and pride myself in creating a friendly, dynamic tutoring environment for the student to feel comfortable and learn.
Many students that I have worked with have achieved or surpassed their test-prep score goals! These scores have helped them to get into universities and become eligible for the scholarships they were striving for. It is my passion to help people through this part of their educational/career journey.

I graduated from UCLA with a degree in Psychobiology. I prioritize connecting with students and using my psychology background to work with students with a range of strengths and weaknesses, including students with ADHD, learning disabilities, and test anxiety. I pride myself on creating a non-judgmental and accepting tutoring environment where students are free to ask questions and make mistakes.
During the first session, I will take time to understand your specific difficulties on the test, we will identify goals, and set a study schedule. Each following lesson, we will review homework (if applicable), relevant concepts, and test-taking strategies. I will monitor your progress throughout our sessions and assign targeted homework and periodic practice tests.
My tutoring style focuses on providing encouragement while asking guiding questions to engage the student in the learning process. I believe that test-taking skills can greatly improve performance and can be taught to any student, regardless of prior subject-specific knowledge level.
I understand that the testing process can be daunting and overwhelming, and I am very excited to help students do their best.
