About Jonathan
I am a graduate of the University of North Texas with a BS in Biology and minor in Chemistry where I tutored multiple courses in both the biology and chemistry departments. I then attended and graduated from Rocky Vista University-College of Osteopathic Medicine with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree. I completed 1 year of Internal Medicine residency before making the transition to medical education. I am comfortable with teaching any topic within the arena of Life Sciences including: Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology/Immunology, Biochemistry and behavioral sciences. I want to help you succeed in whatever career path is requiring you to master topics within medicine and the life sciences.

Learning topics in the disciplines of biology and medicine can be challenging, but they do not have to be if taught well. In my classes, I like to use a crawl/walk/run approach to teaching where your individual needs are assessed and a learning plan can be developed. I also like to use a "see one, do one, teach one" system with the hope that we focus on learning a concept, then use active recall to reinforce the concept and finally mastering the concept well enough to teach it back. I like to use different modalities to best fit different learners needs from direct teaching to question and review to case based examples of a concept. I am passionate about medicine and the life sciences and enjoy teaching and passing my knowledge on to others.
