About Ivan
I myself am an aspiring scientist astounded by the complexity and elegance of biological systems. Above all I am curious to find ways of fixing them when things go wrong in disease - especially in neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. I use a variety of experimental and computational methods in my research and try to be in the know of the most recent, cutting-edge developments. Outside of the lab, I enjoy cycling in the summer, skiing in the winter, and hiking and travelling all year round!

Hello there! I am committed to helping young students achieve their dreams of becoming scientists, which means I do everything possible not only to make lessons enjoyable and specific to curricula and mark schemes, but also to encourage lateral and creative thinking, and to develop valuable problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity. My lessons typically last 45 minutes or 1 hour and are always split into theory and practice. They are very interactive, but they also require independent preparation from the student in the form of homework or pre-reading. I have taught for the last 5 years in a variety of formats: in person at summer schools, online as a private tutor, and as a creator of educational content (video lessons, lecture series, podcasts, specimen exam material) with many thousands of grateful students. I hold a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford. I look forward to hearing from you very soon!
