About Paul
BA (Hons) in Music and MA from Oxford University (1987 to 1990) where I was also an organ scholar.
Grade 8 distinction on 3 instruments (piano, organ, flute) at the age of 17.
Many years' experience of teaching instruments and music theory (specifically for ABRSM Grade 5 exams and beyond) and GCSE music.
My students study for ABRSM graded exams. Some study just for pleasure. I generally teach classical music but, particularly, in my singing lessons, I also teach musical theatre and contemporary music.

I teach classically, ensuring that my students read music. I tend to teach music theory alongside the practical subject, ensuring that students understand the link between the two. I prepare students for grammar and specialist school music scholarship auditions. I also assist with GCSE and A Level Music preparation. I travel to students' houses in the West Hampstead/St John's Wood areas.
