About Aaron

I’m a German and Spanish student at the University of Oxford. As part of my year abroad, I spent six months studying at the University of Tübingen in Germany, where I developed my language skills through university classes and everyday conversation.

My degree involves studying German literature, translation and advanced language work. Having learnt German through the British school system myself, I understand the difficulties students can encounter, whether that’s mastering grammatical cases, getting to grips with word order or developing the confidence to speak more spontaneously.

I’ve previously led German revision sessions in a classroom setting and worked with younger students through university outreach activities. I enjoy helping students understand how the language works, rather than simply memorising rules, and adapting my explanations to the way each student learns.

About the lesson

I offer one-to-one online German tuition for GCSE and A-level students, as well as beginners and anyone looking to improve their German.

Lessons are tailored to your current level, examination syllabus and personal goals. Depending on what you need, we can focus on:

* Grammar and translation: understanding sentence structure, word order, cases and more advanced constructions.
* Speaking and pronunciation: building confidence through conversation, discussion and exam-style practice.
* Reading, listening and writing: developing comprehension and producing more accurate, natural German.
* A-level literature and film: discussing themes, analysing passages and developing well-supported arguments.

I also offer Oxford Modern Languages interview preparation for German applicants, including mock interviews, literary discussion and personalised feedback.

Lessons are available in 60-, 90- or 120-minute sessions. Longer sessions can be particularly useful for intensive exam preparation, extended speaking practice or more detailed work on literature and translation.

I aim to make lessons supportive but challenging, with clear explanations, constructive feedback and opportunities to build on what you’ve learnt.
