About Arron
Firstly, hello! My name is Arron and I am an incoming PhD (DPhil) student in History at the University of Oxford. I achieved both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Oxford, and even spent three years working in an admissions-related role at the University! During this time I served as an Outreach Officer which involved supporting thousands of students from across the UK in their university decisions and applications. Thanks to this experience, I know just how tricky navigating both examinations and university admissions can be! I would love to use this experience to support students in English Language, English Literature, History, and the humanities subjects more generally!
I have always enjoyed working with students and get a huge sense of fulfilment from supporting young people with huge potential achieve their goals.

I believe in learning through discussion and interrogation of ideas. Over the course of one hour, students and I will typically try to answer a theme question for the lesson. This could be a past exam paper, or a question based on the texts, sources and other material we are covering at the time. Through the discussion of this theme question, I aim to provide guidance for students so that they can develop independence of thought and critical thinking skills - all working towards the goal of empowering the student to tackle their exams with confidence. We will also use qualification assessment objectives and exam techniques to focus the discussion, thus providing students with exam-oriented skills training.
