About Yannick
I grew up surrounded by music. I started with the clarinet in elementary school, moved on to trumpet in high school, and then joined the Air Cadet marching band. I also played in orchestras and jazz bands, even competing in Florida. All this school experience gave me confidence in my musical abilities, which helped me a lot when I later taught myself guitar and piano after my studies. I learned those two instruments much more intuitively, and that allowed me to deepen my understanding of music, rhythm, and harmony. Every day, I keep learning, and in doing so, I keep developing my teaching approach—starting with myself. I mainly teach beginners because I love that moment of discovery: it’s such a precious time, and I truly enjoy awakening curiosity about the musical world in newcomers.
