About Igor
Hello! My name is Igor and I was born in Lomé, Togo, a small country in West Africa. My country was colonized by the French, so French is my mother tongue. I moved to the US when I was 11 and lived in NYC until 2023. I now reside in TN. My wife and I have 2 girls with another baby on the way. We home school our oldest who is currently in 1st grade. I also worked at a summer camp a few years ago, and I tutored kids while I was in college. I enjoy working with all kinds of students - those who are eager to learn and those who need a little push as well. I’m patient, understanding, and kind, and I believe that respect is mutual.

I graduated from Columbia University with a BA in French and Francophone Studies. Some of my favorite classes were the ones where professors asked us to pitch in as far as what we wanted to learn and discuss. This is why I believe in a collaborative approach to lesson planning. I want to work with you to understand your needs and how we can meet them. Whether it’s learning English as a second language, or learning French, I’m happy to develop a plan together tailored to you. Together, we will make learning fun.
