Patient Qualified and Experienced Primary School Teacher. Ages up to 11 welcome.

Methodology

My approach is of an individual nature. All people, especially children, learn differently.
I aim to start by getting to know my pupils and then adapting my teaching to engage and benefit that student (or small group where needed).
I believe in hands on learning as well as putting the learning into a clear context.

Background

I am a quallified Primary school teacher who has recently returned from teaching and travelling in Asia.
I have an in depth understanding of then British National Curriculum.

My enthusiasm of learning teamed with my patient approach enables me to support children through areas they might find more challenging.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Shenzhen International Foundation College - Primary School 1st August 2018 – 31st July 2019
Classroom teacher
Kindergarten/ Grade 1 mixed class.

I have been part of the small team of teachers who have started the primary school at the brand-new
campus. The primary school works towards the standards of the English National Curriculum and uses
IPC (International Primary Curriculum). The Middle and High school both follow American education
system (Common Core). As part of the startup team, I have been able to assist with the construction
and implementation of various school policies. I have agency over the curriculum taught and the
delivery within KG and Grade 1.

Hadleigh Community Primary School
Classroom teacher 2015 - 2018
Year 4 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.
Year 3 2017-2018.

Hadleigh CPS is a large three form entry school within the rural setting in Suffolk. They have around 560 children enrolled at the school, from nursery to year 6. As a whole school approach, they specialise in Talk4Writing across English; Maths Mastery via the NCETM Maths Hub, as well as the Accelerated Reader Program. Reciprocal reading has is also being introduced across the school after having been trialed in year 4 for the previous two years, where I was part of the team who adapted it to fit our school and create an assessment. I also worked closely with the mathematics team to implement Maths Mastery, via the White Rose Maths Hub, across the whole school, offering training to colleagues with Smartboards to enhance the use of technology within mathematics.
My specialism within the school was SEND. I worked as part of the school’s SEND team assisting the SENDCo in monitoring, adapting and improving SEND across the school.

Craneswater Junior School 2014 - 2015
Main placement during SCITT – Year 5.
During this placement I completed my research essay on the use on starters to reinforce prior knowledge within mathematics.

Stamshaw Infant school 2014-2015
Secondary placement during SCITT - Year 2
Throughout this placement I spent time in EYFS, year 1 and year 2 in order to grasp a good understanding of phonics across all phases.

VOLUNTERRING ROLES
Warren Park Primary School 2012 - 2014
Classroom experience throughout my degree. Years 1-6.
I volunteered at Warren Park Primary School throughout the duration of my degree while in Portsmouth. I was able to gain experience across all year groups. During this experience I assisted teachers as well as conducting small group activities.

The Oaks Primary School 2009 – 2011 Classroom experience. Years 1-6.
I volunteered at The Oaks Primary School for one day a week across all year groups. My focus was with children with behavioral needs and I assisted with the personal provision for individuals whom needed additional support to regulate their emotions and conduct.

Brownies (GirlGuides UK) 2009 – 2011
I volunteered with the GirlGuides UK as a group leader for a large Brownies group (7-10-year-old). Each week the children were able to work towards gaining new badges, meet new friends, explore new hobbies and get creative. As well as weekly meetings, we had camps, day trips and sleepovers.
