About Sacha
I have had experience teaching at a broad range of levels - from complete beginners to advanced cellists - and have loved every minute!
Having played the cello for over 12 years I have completed Grade 8 and an ATCL Performance Diploma, receiving Distinctions in both. Alongside solo performance, I currently play in Oxford's OUPhilharmonia Orchestra, and played bi-annually alongside conservetoire level musicians at Pro-Corda, an ensemble training course.
I have also had extensive academic teaching experience, with 600+ session hours teaching English and History to GCSE standard, and Maths to A level standard.
I am incredibly passionate about teaching and am very eager to take on new students of all ages!

Lessons are tailored to the ability and ambitions of each student. With more advanced students I strike a balance between working on technique, sound variation and musical interpretation. With beginners I focus on the fundamentals - technique and sound quality. Regardless of the student's standard I ensure lessons are engaging and never feel too formal; music is meant to be fun after all!

Perfect! Outstanding on every front!
Perfect! Sacha has been teaching my 12 year old daughter the cello for the last few weeks.
I'm impressed with how much progress she has made in a short time as well as how enthusiastic she is to practice between lessons. Sacha has a calm, friendly and professional approach and is clearly a very talented musician.
