About Siri
I'm a 30-year-old educator, ceramicist, and writer from New Jersey, now based in Brooklyn. Alongside my work as a tutor, I’m passionate about creative writing and am currently working on my first novel. As a tutor, I take a Montessori-inspired, child-centered approach to teaching English, focusing on reading, writing, and grammar for children ages 3–12. With 6 years of classroom experience and a Master’s in Curriculum and Teaching from Columbia University, I tailor each lesson to the child’s developmental stage, interests, and learning style. My sessions blend phonics-based instruction, storytelling, hands-on activities, and creative language exercises to build strong literacy skills and foster independent thinking. A typical session includes a warm-up, targeted skill work, interactive practice, and a reflective wrap-up with take-home suggestions.
