About DD
I love working with students of all ages. Work in the classroom has been with elementary students. However, I have tutored students of all grades including college.
Learning should include having fun. I want to take students on a journey to become their best self. My goal is to create a lifestyle of learning that becomes exciting journey rather than just an activity that can be dull and boring.
Understanding subject matter is the aim ... not merely memorizing to "get the A." Once a student understands a concept, it can be applied to any subject or situation in life.

I work with students of all ages and abilities. I have fifteen years working in school setting: Paraprofessional, Special Education Teacher, Montessori teacher. As well as additional years of community education: tutoring and afterschool programs.
My work includes striving to understand what students already knows, where they need to be (the area of academic challenge), and how they process information (learning style).
Teaching techniques include concept explanation, exploring concepts by doing and implementing fun ways to reinforce learning (games, art, and other interdisciplinary activities).
