About Emma
I am a PGCE qualified Art & Design teacher based in Berkshire, UK. I have 8 years' experience working in mainstream secondary schools both in London and Hampshire. I left mainstream education and have pursued freelance art education for one year and counting. Before teaching I gained 2:1 in BA (hons) Illustration at The Arts University at Bournemouth (2014). I have worked in both community arts and special needs education. I feel passionately that art is important for all children and adults alike.

A friendly and creative approach to helping your child reach their potential in Art & Design.
With 8 years' experience teaching in mainstream secondary education, I have a track record of excellent GCSE & A Level grades. In addition, I have helped students prepare portfolios to apply and attend both Further and Higher Education courses at top UK universities such as Kingston University and UAL.
My main priority as your child's teacher will be to personalise teaching to suit their learning style, ability and most importantly to make creative learning fun!
In KS2-KS3, I focus on building students' confidence in using different media and materials through personalised art projects based on your child's interests.
At GCSE, my focus is to work with your child to ensure they are meeting the criteria band for their aspired grade, whilst coaching and guiding their skill development. My expertise is with Pearson (Edexcel) and OCR exam boards.
At A Level, my teaching approach will be more like coaching and guidance. If your child wishes to continue their learning at further education (Foundation Diploma in Art & Design) or higher education, I can offer portfolio and application guidance to ensure that your child has the best chance to attend their first choice university.
