I had the pleasure of having Moriel as my college algebra TA, and I can't speak highly enough of her. From the first day of class, Moriel demonstrated an exceptional level of patience and enthusiasm that truly made a difference in my learning experience. She consistently took the time to ensure that each student understood the material, never hesitating to explain concepts. She genuinely cared about our progress and went above and beyond to support us. I had Moriel as my GSI for Math 96 during the summer bridge program at Berkeley, right before my freshman year. She was in charge of our pod of about 20 students, and honestly, she made the whole experience great. Moriel had this way of explaining things that just clicked - she made math easy to understand without making you feel dumb if you didn't get it right away. What I really appreciated was how she always told us there were no stupid questions. She kept encouraging everyone to speak up and participate, which made the class feel way more comfortable. Moriel was super friendly too, so it wasn't like talking to a stern professor or anything. She was patient with us and never made anyone feel bad for asking for help. You could tell she really knew her stuff and cared about us learning, which made her a teacher you could trust and rely on. Looking back, I'm really glad I had her as my GSI. She definitely helped make the transition to college math a lot smoother.
