About Jesyka
Hello! My name is Jesyka, and I am a PhD Candidate in English Literature; I also have a BA and MA in English literature. I am currently completing my doctoral dissertation.
I have been lucky to teach many students over the last seven years at the university level. During my graduate degrees, I have also been involved in many community-oriented projects and organizations--working in and with community is a big part of my life!
I am a lover of books, but I also have many other artistic hobbies, including collaging and cross stitching.

-My teaching approach is based upon my student! I have taught in the post-secondary sector for the last seven years, and have learned to tailor my approach based on the experience of the student in front of me. I have taught all manner of English literature courses, as well as academic essay writing and composition. I have also taught students with a variety of skill levels and experiences: many of my students have been right out of high school, but I have also taught upper-year university students.
-My lessons are interactive. It's my belief that in the study of literature and writing, conversation should be central. Critical thinking skills are often best developed while conversing about your ideas.
-I am happy to tutor university students and assist with essay writing and/or reading comprehension/exam prep, but I am also very comfortable tutoring high school students. Let's get you ready for university!
