About Andrew
Hi, I'm Andy - a data scientist with a PhD in Economics from UCL. I love teaching because I enjoy helping students make sense of complex ideas—whether that's in economics, statistics, or data science. Tutoring allows me to share both academic knowledge and real-world experience, and I take pride in making difficult topics accessible and engaging. I'm equally happy teaching economic theory or applied work using R or Python, depending on what best supports the student’s learning. I'm patient, supportive, and focused on helping each student reach their goals with clarity and confidence.

My teaching approach is highly tailored to each student’s needs. I start by understanding their goals, strengths, and gaps, and then structure lessons around problem sets, past papers, or specific questions they bring. I aim to build both understanding and confidence through active problem-solving and clear explanations. Lessons are typically 60 minutes, but I can adapt to shorter or longer sessions depending on the student's preference. I’ve taught at both UCL and LSE (while doing a PhD at the former), covering both theoretical and applied work (I'm happy to help with R/Python/Stata). Whether you're preparing for exams, working through coursework, or building applied data skills, I can help.
