About Jodie
PhD qualified and experienced Science teacher with a strong academic and research background. I currently work as a Science teacher, teaching KS3, KS4 and A-Level Chemistry, giving me up-to-date experience of the UK curriculum and the requirements of exam preparation. I am passionate about helping students reach their potential and provide supportive, personalised lessons tailored to each student's ability, goals and learning style.
I hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of York and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bath. Alongside my academic career, I have gained valuable industry and research experience, including working with pharmaceutical companies and the Institute of Cancer Research.
Throughout this time, I have also been tutoring students and running tutorials, developing a teaching style that focuses on clear explanations, building confidence, and helping students develop a genuine understanding of Chemistry.

As a working Science teacher with a PhD in Chemistry and research experience in cancer drug discovery, I offer structured, engaging and personalised lessons tailored to each student’s individual needs.
My teaching approach focuses on building a strong understanding of core concepts, developing exam technique, and helping students gain confidence in tackling challenging problems. I use a combination of clear explanations, worked examples, targeted practice questions and exam-style questions, adapting the pace and approach to suit each student. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged where appropriate.
I have experience teaching Science across KS3, KS4 (GCSE) and Chemistry at KS5 (A-Level) and am familiar with the demands of the UK curriculum and examination preparation. My lessons are suitable for students from KS3 through A-Level, whether they are looking to strengthen their foundations, improve their grades, prepare for exams, or deepen their understanding of science.
