About Colette
I started teaching English as a Foreign Language when I was 18, to finance my studies and travels. I went on to teach Philosophy in various state schools and at the University of Malta. However, the field of education is rapidly changing these days and students are no longer choosing traditional institutions and paths. That is why I am excited to reinvent myself as an online tutor and to offer my services to enthusiastic students wherever they may be!
Over the years I have gained lots of experience and helped many students to pass their exams. I have taught in Malta, India, the UAE, and more recently, for a short period in China. Many of my students in College went on to successfully complete a degree in Philosophy and whenever I bump into an ex-student (Malta is a tiny place) they usually bring up how much they had enjoyed and miss my classes.

Interactive courses designed according to student's needs, covering content (e.g. History of Philosophy, philosophical terminology) as well as skills (e.g. reading and writing philosophy, building a valid and sound argument).
Lessons are usually on a one-to-one basis and last an hour. Courses can also be provided that fulfill specific requests, at advanced, undergrad, and postgrad levels. In particular, my lessons are designed for students of Philosophy, who would like some help with their English.

Having studied with Dr. Sciberras I can wholeheartedly recommend her as an exceptional teacher, respected both locally and internationally by students and academics alike. Her lectures have been intellectually stimulating and appropriatly challenging, and her teaching style is very approachable. Dr. Sciberras is very dependable and prospective students can rest assured that she will give her outmost to help them achieve proficiency in the subjects she is tutoring.
During my post-secondary education, I had the grace of choosing Philosophy as one of my A-Level subjects. Where teaching is involved, the appreciation a student has for a subject is mediated by the teacher's way of teaching. I sincerely believe that Dr Collette is extremely underated for her talents and passion for teaching. If she is to be transferred primary education, the system will have done an injustice, to her, to prospective students of philosophy, and GCHSS. The team at GCHSS will not be the same without her. I could not have achieve an A in philosophy without her guidance, care and genuine interest.
I consider myself very lucky to have had Colette as my philosophy professor, not only she is a wonderful teacher but she encourages her students to work harder and enjoy learning.
One of those teachers you will remember forever. She is genuinely interested in her students' success and caters to each student's unique way of learning.
Colette taught me Philosophy A Level and I can say with certainty that any student studying under her guidance is in excellent hands. She is very dedicated and demands the best out of her students, and is ready to go many extra miles in order to see that they are very well prepared for their studies. She's met up with me for one-on-one sessions outside of lectures countless times, has provided an expansive amount of studying material, and is undeniably well versed in the subject, going into the nitpicky levels of detail that Philosophy A Level demands of its students. I sincerely consider myself, and anyone else being taken under her wing very lucky to have her as a guide in this subject :)
Motivated, dedicated, and thoroughly passionate about the material.
Around 5 years ago I had trouble grasping on what is the meaning of life and why are things the way they are. Today, I can say that I somewhat understand many intricate thoughts I had and developed them with good reasoning and logic behind it. I have never self reflected this deeply before and that is because I took the very first step in philosophy with Colette as my tutor. She is one of the many reasons why I started a university course that goes into politics and philosophy. Colette is an amazing tutor, who will spend time debating you and even help you develop your skills to think outside the box, and in doing that she will help you understand certain concepts that may look tough at first but eventually you will get them through her mentoring. I strongly recommend Colette to be your first tutor, and should not hesitate to contact her asap!
I studied philosophy throughout sixth form and Colette happened to be my lecturer! Furthermore, I am now so glad she was my lecturer as without her help I wouldn't have gotten the appropriate grade for university. She is well organised and very keen to guide us throughout our journey in studying philosophy! I would recommend choosing Colette as your tutor as with her help you will start to expand your knowledge in philosophy with her assistance and you will definitely achieve the grades you desire!
Colette was my philosophy lecturer for two years and I can confidently say she made a great impact on my life whether it was through my studies or wellbeing in general. She puts more effort into her students than any other teacher than I’ve ever experienced, and truly believes in each and every one of them in a holistic way!
I know Colette would go the extra mile to see her pupils succeed!
Honestly, classes with Ms. Colette were my absolute favourite. She has an amazing way of breaking things down to make one more engaged in the subject, and yes, she does make you feel challenged in class, but in a thrilling way.
Alive, different, deep, loving and loves what she does.
