My teaching style is clear, detailed, and engaging. I focus on explaining concepts step by step and using real-world examples to make complex ideas easier to understand and more relevant. Rather than simply teaching students how to follow procedures, I encourage them to think critically about why a particular method is used and when it should be applied. I also use practical problems to stimulate independent thinking and help students develop a deeper understanding of GIS and spatial analysis.
Software: ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, R
Basic concepts of GIS: CRS, projection, data structure, data input, cartography, basic tools...
Spatial analysis: hotspot analysis (Getis Ord Gi*, Local Moran's I), geographically weighted regression (GWR), spatial interpolation (IDW, Kriging...), spatial data processing, data integration...
Coding with R for geographical research: random forest (RF), MaxEnt, SHAP, and other machine learning models...
I can also teach statistics.
A lesson is generally 1 hour, depending on different topics. I have slides but you can ask any GIS related questions you are interested in. If you need practice, I can provide data.
The lessons are mainly for GIS beginners, intermediate, researchers (Master, PhD), who want to apply GIS to their research.
