About Jay
I graduated from Imperial College London with a PhD in environmental chemistry in 2020. I also have an MSci Chemistry degree from University College London (2012). I worked as a graduate teaching assistant at Imperial College between 2016-2020, and prior to that I was an IB Chemistry teacher at a private school in South Korea.

I offer tuition at all levels (GCSE, A-level or IB, or undergraduate). I have a CELTA qualification, so my methodology is largely geared towards building up the student's confidence, intuition and feeling for the subject, to understand Chemistry on a deeper level (as opposed to memorising concepts to pass exams only). I use a lot of analogies to break down complex chemical phenomena into simple underlying ideas, and I use a lot of graphical approaches (I love to quickly sketch out figures in MS Paint! and then have students annotate the figures).
