About Alakta
I'm a PhD researcher in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Edinburgh, with a deep love for science and an equal passion for teaching it. I've spent three years supporting undergraduate students in the lab and classroom, and I find genuine satisfaction in helping students at all levels build confidence in subjects they once found overwhelming. Whether a student is struggling with the basics or pushing for top grades, I tailor every session to where they are.

I focus on understanding over memorisation — breaking down concepts clearly before tackling exam technique and past papers. Each session comes with tailored notes and worked examples to take away. Typically one hour, flexible to your needs. Backed by a PhD in Biochemistry and three years of university teaching. Online and in person in Edinburgh, for ages 14+ from GCSE to undergraduate.
