I am a PhD student in Archaeology who is able to offer tutoring in social science subjects including; archaeology, anthropology, geography, history, sociology and, also, English literature.

About Lindsay
I completed A Levels in English literature, Sociology and Psychology before gaining a first class degree at UCL in Archaeology (BA Hons). My Masters degree, also in Archaeology, was achieved at the University of Reading (MA awarded with distinction) where I am a current PhD student exploring Roman Britain. I have AFHEA accreditation for my teaching experience at higher education level, and am involved in teaching several modules for undergraduates, including geography.

I first assess each individual student’s needs and work with them to devise the best strategy for them to learn. This will always involve a range of reading, writing and discussion but how these are put into practice will depend on the subject being studied and individual student needs. All humanities subjects require critical thinking skills and these are best developed by examining specific case studies that relate to the topics being covered and by discussing them. Understanding of the topic can then be demonstrated through written work which further embeds the knowledge.
