My name is Amy, i'm 27 and am a PhD student at the University of Surrey. I offer tutoring for students from primary school age up to A-level.
I love the subject area, and aim to share some of my passion for this with my tutees. I believe this aids learning.
I aim to tailor each lesson to the individual student so they can get as much out of the session as possible. I use many different teaching styles including: verbal explanations, diagrams, use of past papers, text books, videos and tests of reinforce learning.
I am patient and friendly, and enjoy working with students to help them achieve their goals.
I have tutored students for three years, from primary school age to A-level students. In total, I have taught 5 different students, who have all achieved their desired grades. I am flexible in my teaching style, and aim to tailor my lessons to suit each individual so they get the maximum benefit from each session.
I am a final year PhD student in the area of Biochemistry and Molecular biology, with a first class undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, so I have a great deal of knowledge and experience in these areas.
During the course of my degree and my PhD I have balanced studies, work, research experience and other commitments. I have effective organisational skills and can efficiently handle a variety of responsibilities.
As well as private tutoring experience, I have work experience in a primary school, and have worked as a demonstrator in practical classes for undergraduate students. This involved explaining complicated concepts, answering questions and marking reports and exams.
Amy is a highly educated, intelligent individual currently pursuing the final year of her PhD. Her extensive study places her in an excellent position to offer tutoring on a range of subjects. Amy has a great deal of previous tutoring experience and has helped numerous students perform to the best of their ability. Amy is passionate about learning and very friendly - I have no doubt that she would make a patient, effective and approachable tutor.
