About Brieuc
Hello,
Graduated of the Ecole Centrale de Nantes and holder of a European Master in Physics, I am currently doing a PhD in Theoretical Physics at Sorbonne University.
Throughout my career, I not only had the opportunity to appropriate many mathematical and physical tools, but I also discovered the pleasure of passing on my knowledge. This transmission took place in different situations, ranging from private lessons to professional meetings as part of my internships.
In addition, my science teaching experience is complemented by experiences in other fields: sailing and piano. I thus hold a sailing instructor diploma, a diploma received at the end of a training course including in particular 10 hours of introduction to pedagogy for all types of public. Finally, Jazz pianist, I enjoy teaching the piano to beginners.
As a final word, as part of my doctorate, I am responsible for carrying out tutorials for students from License 1 to License 3 in Physics. These lessons are supplemented by a series of teaching training days given by teachers from Sorbonne University.

Depending on the student's goals, I opt for one of the following two methods:
- A student who wishes to acquire science skills with the aim of undertaking studies in this field: I focus on understanding concepts. Once the basic knowledge has been acquired, I pace the session with questions on the subject of the course in order to help the student to appropriate the tools. I do not hesitate to take the time to clarify the points which seem crucial to me.
- a student wishing to secure his exams (baccalaureate, ...): I focus the teaching around the knowledge and methodology to solve exercises. The sessions contain a reformulation of the concepts seen in class, followed by a battery of exercises, taken from books or adapted to the needs of the students.
Whatever the profile of the student, I systematically include methodological advices to learn how to learn. This usually takes the form of a question. For example: “When do you know that you know?”.
I would like to point out that in the context of the current health crisis, lessons can take place by webcam or face-to-face. I nevertheless recommend the face-to-face courses for a better monitoring and supervision.
