About Patrick
I obtained a PhD in mathematical physics 35 years ago. Since then, I have been teaching at several universities and colleges, and have been tutoring students from high school up to graduate school, on all topics related to physics and math. I prefer tutoring to teaching a class because it allows to know better the level of the student and the approach that is better for them. For example, some students want to be taught the theory, some prefer to just work on problems, some want to try the problems by themselves and have me check their work while others prefer to have me work through the problems in front of them (and of course some prefer different approaches depending on the difficulty of the questions). I always start by asking questions to the students in order to find out their level, what material is easy for them, what is difficult, and I always look for the best way to make the explanations clear (and am happy to repeat explanations and change the way I explain if it helps).
