About Jan Roi
I am an AB Philosophy graduate from the University of Santo Tomas with a strong passion for teaching and critical inquiry. My academic background has given me a solid foundation in Existentialism, Ethics, Logic, and the history of philosophy. I am particularly interested in helping students understand complex philosophical ideas in a clear, relatable, and practical way.
I believe philosophy is not just about theories, but about understanding life, freedom, responsibility, and personal meaning. My goal as a tutor is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, expressing their thoughts, and developing independent thinking skills.
I am patient, approachable, and committed to helping students build confidence in analyzing texts, forming arguments, and writing strong academic essays.

I offer structured and discussion-based lessons in Existentialism for senior high school and university students in the UAE. My teaching approach focuses on clarity, critical thinking, and real-life application of philosophical concepts. We explore key thinkers such as Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Sartre, and Camus while connecting their ideas to contemporary issues and personal experiences.
A typical lesson lasts 60 to 90 minutes. Sessions usually begin with a brief overview of key concepts, followed by guided reading, analysis of selected texts, and open discussion. I also help students improve their essay writing, argument construction, and exam preparation skills.
As an AB Philosophy graduate, I provide strong foundations in ethics, logic, and critical reasoning. My lessons are ideal for students who need academic support, enrichment, or deeper understanding of Existentialist philosophy.
