About Eilidh
I have always had a passion for teaching. I believe the process of teaching is a joint effort, and I go out of my way to make sure it is inquiry based. I know when I was a student I learnt best this way as it afford me responsibility and freedom with my learning.

I believe that learning experiences are co-constructed between the student and the teacher. As a tutor it is my role to support the student in their accessing of content and deepening their understanding of the essential skills to be successful learners. I do this by checking prior learning to ensure they have the foundation to move on into deeper learning. Then through the use of the Gradual Release of Responsibility Model ( I demonstrate, We do together, You do it) ensure that the student can move through to independence in their learning. I design activities and lessons to reflect this . Questioning and checking for understanding are important parts of this to be able to adjust and personalise the learning.
I have been very fortunate in my educational career to have exposure and understanding of a variety of curricula ( IB, Australian, Scottish ) exam boards and standardised testing. This background and experience places me in a unique situation to provide a depth of knowledge and understanding across multiple systems.
My length of lessons are as needed, ranging from30 minutes to an hour. I am able to tutor between early years and secondary school.
