About Samuel
I studied Philosophy and science subjects at A-level, and am about to commence the third year of my Philosophy degree at the University of York. As editor of the student journal here, I have experience in distinguishing good writing from bad. I have been tutoring in local schools for four years.

I believe that understanding is more important than knowledge. If you can grasp a concept, then this will facilitate ability to recall the facts where necessary. I am passionate about the subjects I teach and teach in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. But I can also help you to craft answers that satisfy exam requirements and access top marks.
Philosophy has given me practice at explaining difficult concepts in simple terms and appreciating alternative points of view. My teaching method involves understanding how the student understands a given concept. This then forms the starting point for arriving at a clearer conception, rather than imposing a conception from the beginning.
