About Anna
Hi, I’m Anna! I recently graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. I have over three years of experience tutoring K–12 students in math through Mathnasium, where I worked with students at many different levels and helped them build confidence in problem-solving.
My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and focused on understanding rather than memorizing steps. I like to figure out where a student is getting stuck, explain the idea in a way that makes sense to them, and then guide them through practice until they feel more comfortable. I especially enjoy helping students who feel frustrated with math realize that they are capable of learning it with the right support.

Formally trained by Mathnasium 3+ years. Flexible and able to work with student however the student learns best. I find it important to be able to teach from where the student is and to build understanding before working on coursework.

She breaks things down in ways that works for you and personalizes her teaching style to match your learning style. If you don't understand it the first time, she will explain it in as many different ways as you need till it clicks.
You can tell that she's truly passionate about helping students understand math as she believes math shouldn't be out of reach for anyone. She reminded me that when I struggle with math, it's not my fault, I just haven't been taught the way I learn.
