About Austin
Trained in physics and astronomy (BS degree in each, minors in math and philosophy), I discovered part-way through my undergrad experience that I loved teaching. I eventually went on to train in pedagogy and become a High School science teacher.
One of my favorite things about being a teacher is getting to interact with so many unique and different minds - I find that I myself often learn a lot in this process, and I love to learn so I've been hooked ever since. The best part of the job is finding the strategy/approach for a student that finally helps the knowledge click, but helping a student take their existing knowledge to the next level takes a close second.
I'm a younger teacher, and understand what the modern environment looks and feels like for most students. As a result, I avoid taking a dogmatic approach and prefer to meet each experience with an open mind and a compassionate heart. If you find that your typical education experience isn't quite doing it for you, consider reaching out to a tutor like me who will meet you where you are before taking you to the next level.
Whoever your teachers or tutors may be, I wish you the best in your journey to learn!

I take a flexible approach based on the specific needs of my students - students are all unique individuals and their learning needs reflect their situations, and this guides my philosophy. My experience ranges from gifted students to students struggling to navigate their subject or environment, including students with learning disabilities or challenges. I'm confident that I can help any student who is asking for it by meeting their specific needs as per their situation!

Details
$20 is my lowest rate - as an experienced teacher/tutor, I'm confident this will be worth the price. I am happy to travel within my area as part of this base-rate and require no additional fees for travel.
Science lessons that require extra materials must be paid for by my clients; these costs are usually small but depend on the lesson.
