Teaching Methodology and Techniques:
I believe in using a multi-faceted approach that combines visual aids, hands-on activities, and interactive discussions to engage students of all learning styles.
Visual aids like anatomical models, diagrams, and high-quality images help bring anatomical structures to life.
Hands-on activities could include dissections, clay modeling exercises to build 3D anatomical structures, or digital interactive anatomy tools.
I engage students with questioning techniques like think-pair-share to solidify their understanding.
Relating anatomical concepts to real-world examples and the human body helps foster deeper comprehension.
I provide guided practice through labeling exercises, quizzes, and case studies to reinforce learning.
Typical Lesson Length:
For one-on-one tutoring, my typical lesson is 60-90 minutes to allow enough time for instruction, activities, and review.
For group classes, I prefer 2-hour blocks to accommodate more in-depth exploration of topics.
Qualifications and Experience:
I have a Master's degree in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Human Anatomy and Physiology.
I have over 5 years of experience as a teaching assistant and tutor for anatomy and physiology courses at the university level.
I continue to take professional development courses in education to expand my instructional toolkit.
My students consistently provide excellent feedback on my ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
Target Audience:
My lessons are tailored for high school and university students studying anatomy, physiology, and biology courses.
However, I can adjust the depth and pacing for different levels, from advanced high school to graduate programs.
My methods also work well for adult learners, medical students, and those preparing for allied health professions.
