About Scott
I have taught the piano and Celtic harp for 5 years, offering fun and enjoyable lessons in which you will learn to progress in and understand your instrument. Music is all about expression and so there really is no wrong way of playing it, however a good technical understanding of how to play your instrument properly will enhance your playing quicker, help you understand the history of the music you are playing, and help you to avoid any potential piano/ harp playing injuries such as RSI. I also offer music theory tutorials, further helping you to understand music from a more academic perspective and flute lessons up to ABRSM Grade 6.
I have worked as a piano accompanist so sight reading is a strength for me, as well as playing the Celtic harp in University bands and orchestras.

Everyone learns in different ways and at different paces, this is what keeps teachers on their toes, and it is very interesting to watch and adapt our teaching from our perspective. I teach from the fun side of life, keeping lessons engaging but not overwhelming, if any overwhelming occurs then laughter is the cure! I would then approach the troublesome topic from a different angle, as many times as it takes.
I have worked with many different students, including adults with learning difficulties, so with the highest respect I have seen a lot of different behaviour in my lessons, so I am prepared to handle just about any situation which may arise.

Scott began teaching harp to my friend and I about six months ago after we met through a mutual acquaintance. Harp lessons - £30 per hour
Flute Lessons - £20 per hour
Music Theory tutorials - £20 per hour
Cancellation policy: if the lesson is cancelled within 12 hours before the agreed lesson time, there will be a charge of half the lesson price. e.g. cancelling a lesson 4 hours before we start a piano lesson, there will be a charge of £12.50
There will be a full charge if the student doesn't up for a lesson without any warning.
