About Francesco

I am a pianist based in London who has performed extensively as a soloist across the UK and Europe, in some of the most prestigious concert halls, including London`s Wigmore Hall, the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford, and the "Sala Verdi" in Milan. I have studied at the Royal College of Music, and have been awarded a degree in piano performance from the Conservatoire "G. Verdi" in Milan receiving full marks, as well as a Bachelors and a Masters degree from the University of Oxford, graduating with a Distinction.

I started playing the piano at the age of four and have been taught by Alvin Moisey, Vincenzo Balzani, Ashley Wass, and Victor Sangiorgio. I have also been selected to participate in numerous masterclasses with some of the world`s leading pianists, including Lang Lang and Peter Donohoe.

I have 9 years experience as a piano teacher having taught numerous students of different ages and abilities both in Italy and the UK. I have prepared students for all ABRSM grades, and have also helped prepare candidates for entrance examinations/interviews to academic music courses at the UK`s top universities.

My address is in West London (W4) and I am happy to receive students and/ or travel to students' addresses.

About the lesson

My approach is quite traditional, with a focus on developing the necessary technique required to tackle the core repertoire. I work primarily on teaching students to use weight, articulation and a high attention to detail in order to exploit the subtle, yet dynamic, range of tones and sounds that the piano has to offer.

Francesco is a super guy who has a profound knowledge and feeling for all things musical. He is a jolly and reliable character, and whose acquaintance I had the fortune of counting when he studied at conservatoire and later at university. Having benefited from his guidance for my own playing, I know that melody and the performer's singing voice are what really cook his noodles, and, indeed, something all too noticeable in his own playing. Naturally, Francesco's foundation is rigorous and solid technique (and he will show you what art scales can be!), which is the ticket to the development of his student's own voice and how then to learn to approach music intelligently. Hire him!

Francesco is a highly reliable, very professional, committed
teacher.
He started at the Junior Department of The Royal College of Music when he was eight years old and I accompanied him
every Saturday for nine of the ten years he was there!
He then went on to the Conservatorio in Milan and Oxford
University.
I recommend him because he knows his stuff!! Believe me!
