  • 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?

    1) I started being passionate about music at the age 3, when I started learning music education for kids. Music has always been a way to gather community in my life and socially. I think my favorite instrument is always the voice, I always want to make my piano to sing.
  • 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

    2) I could listen to all Brazilian Music MPB artists like Djavan, Milton, Caetano, Gil on 24/7 without being enough. Also, Jazz musicians like Wayne Shorter, Hermeto Pascoal, Keith Jarrett, Bill Frisell, Paul Motian are always in my heart and on my playlists!
  • 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

    3) I always encourage students to get an adequate challenge for where they are at the moment. I really like to do solo piano arrangements, transcriptions of piano pieces to accordion, we could also learn very advanced skills and devices on Jazz harmony and improvisation.
  • 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

    4) Mastering an instrument is a never ending process, any instrument will give us an infinite amount of skills to learn and techniques to refine. I prefer to think of it like a language, you can always express yourself better but there is a point where you feel fluent with it!
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

    5) I think working diligently and consistently is the best way to learn anything. Allowing ourselves time to go through the challenges and extracting knowledge out of it and expanding our sensitivity is what gives me a lot of joy in life and is a shared path to learn many many beautiful things.
  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

    6) If I could have breakfast with Gil I would have accomplished life in full. I really would love to talk about mundanities, daily life and get a little bit of his wisdom... the way he speaks is so beautiful.
  • 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

    7) I always remember learning from playing with musicians much older than me, especially in my early 20's. The first thing that comes to my mind is a bass player, a great friend, always telling me to play more simply, the more the time passes this makes more sense.
  • 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

    8) I love to listen to people and try to give them good advice. I think it is important to be aware of the amount of material we go through at the same time, and also very important to teach students how to practice, as it is how we teach ourselves music.
