About Jerry
I have been teaching piano, keyboard, organ, and sampler and synthesizer for over 30 years. My students have ranged in age from 5 to 81 years. And they all learned ! Once a student told me I was a cartoon. I asked which character. They said " No, you area whole cartoon! ". I believe in humor and I believe in the power of positive reenforcement to urge my students on to achieve our agreed on goals , and to perfect their skills, whether a beginner, or a seasoned performer. I have had over a dozen students go on to college with music as their major or minor.

I have 2 degrees, both from George Mason University, one , a BA in History, and the other , much more relevant, a BA in Piano. As a piano student , I studied the masters, Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, as well as 20th century composers such as Bartok, Stravinsky, and others. My biggest area of interest was in barrelhouse and boogie piano styles as well as blues, and how they are used in rock stylings.
