About Laurel
I am a piano tutor with 7 years of experience and a Doctor of Philosophy in Piano Studies. I enjoy helping students build musical confidence while discovering the beauty and versatility of piano performance.
My lessons are carefully planned to match each learner's goals and learning style. I believe steady encouragement, consistent practice, and clear instruction help every student reach their full potential.
Outside teaching, I enjoy composing piano music, performing with ensembles, and exploring classical and contemporary repertoire. These experiences allow me to bring fresh musical ideas and practical experience into every lesson.

My piano lessons help students build confidence by combining technical practice with creative musical experiences. We study finger coordination, note reading, rhythm training, scales, chord progressions, pedal technique, dynamics, sight reading, and expressive playing through engaging activities and enjoyable repertoire. Every lesson encourages steady progress.
As learners advance, we work on duet playing, improvisation, accompaniment patterns, musical interpretation, ear training, performance preparation, and confident stage presence. I provide personalized guidance and structured practice plans that help students improve while enjoying every lesson.
My goal is to help students become expressive pianists who enjoy playing with confidence and musical understanding. Every lesson develops technique, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for piano music.
