About Tessa
"I am a piano teacher with over 5 years of experience teaching students both online and in person. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, where I received formal training in performance, technique, and musicianship. I enjoy helping students build confidence while developing a lifelong love for music.
My lessons are based on active learning, musical expression, and understanding the complete picture of music. Along with piano technique, I include music theory, history, creativity, and listening skills so every lesson feels meaningful. I believe these areas work together and help students become well-rounded musicians.
I have worked with students from complete beginners to professional performers, and every lesson is planned around their goals and learning style. For example, one beginner who started by learning simple melodies later performed confidently at a local community concert because we focused on steady progress each week. Seeing moments like this is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.
I aim to make every lesson enjoyable, practical, and encouraging. Whether you are learning for fun, preparing for performances, or building professional skills, I would be delighted to help you begin or continue your musical journey."

"My lessons are designed for students preparing for performances, competitions, recordings, and important musical milestones. We work on posture, hand position, phrasing, musical expression, and stage presence so you feel prepared from practice to performance. Every detail is taught in a simple and practical way.
For students preparing for graded assessments, I help build confidence through structured practice plans, technical exercises, and mock performances. I also enjoy supporting musicians who play regularly in worship services by improving accompaniment skills, musical sensitivity, and confident sight reading. These skills help students perform naturally in both formal and live settings.
To support modern learning, I use digital audio workstations, recording tools, and audio analysis apps to review performances together. Listening back to recordings often helps students notice small details that are easy to miss while playing, and many find this a real turning point in their progress. I encourage steady practice with achievable goals because small improvements each week lead to lasting results. My goal is to help every student perform with confidence, express themselves through music, and continue growing as a pianist."
