About Jane
I began learning to play the piano at 6 years old and studied at the London College of Music. I have extensive experience as an accompanist for concerts and exams, and have been teaching for over 30 years. For me, the joy of playing the piano is bringing the music to life from the page, written by the greatest musicians from Bach to contemporary composers.

I teach absolute beginners through to grade 8 level students, children from 8 years old. All styles of music from classical to contemporary, are played from the score and I include scales and arpeggios for technique and general knowledge. Most lessons are half an hour but may be shorter for younger pupils or longer for more advanced players. Most are weekly lessons but fortnightly or monthly are also acceptable. I am happy to put pupils in for exams, festivals and concerts but equally happy for students to just play for pleasure.
