• About me

• I'm 32 years old and have been playing piano since I was 8.
I had strict and serious lessons as a child so I would love to teach and instill more kindness and a self-compassionate approach to learning and teaching.
• I'm a creative designer by day and a music dreamer by night. I enjoy playing piano at annual recitals and have been on the judging panel at Janet's Music school. I love seeing kids have fun and adults light up to discover a new passion. It fulfills me being able to be a facilitator for creative expression and connection.
• I am classically trained with AMEB 8th grade syllabus. I have been teaching from home and traveling to students' homes for 10 years. I'm experienced with teaching children from ages 4 and up to working adults that have been wanting to learn for fun. I have also taught at Rockdale public school afterschool private lessons for several years preparing children for ABRSM piano and theory exams or teenagers/ adults who just want to play for leisure.
• Some of my favourite pieces to learn and teach range from Chopin to movie/game music scores such as Ghibli or Final Fantasy.

Music is an expression of your soul.
Piano is therapy for your mental health.
• My teaching style is flexible and adjusted to fit your needs. I'm always open to have a chat and would love passionate students to learn with me as I want it to be an enjoyable experience. If you're wondering if you can show off to your loved ones straight away, don't worry we will play your favourite songs!
• I'm patient, focused, and firm. I have a background in design so I always try to find creative strategies to teach according to the students personality and learning style.
• First 30min lesson is always free to see if we're a good fit and also an assessment to see what level you are at so we can design a program to fit you. I can teach music theory and we can integrate it into the lesson. If you prefer not to read music notes then we can learn a different way!
• I have created a community of liked minded students on Instagram (concealed information) to showcase each student's progress and their musical journey. It combines music and mental health awareness which is a kind approach to learning and teaching. It's a fun and collaborative environment to feel a sense of peace and relaxation. • A rough guideline to a lesson structure (but not limited to):
~ Beginners lesson
• 5-10mins warm-up exercises with some foundational theory
•15-20mins learning songs
•2-5min to wrap up and debrief practice plans to achieve the following lesson
~ Intermediate to Advanced
• 10min warm-up exercises
• 40min songs
• 10 min debrief of lesson and practice plan for the following lesson
~ I will provide practice notes, diagrams, and recorded video/audio examples of challenging sections that need further attention. I am also open to communicating via online platforms if you have questions about your lessons.

Perfect! My five year old son had his first piano class with Bel. He had a good time with the music and Bel.
Perfect! Bel spent time trying to understand my level and aspirations before strategizing the lesson. She was warm and welcoming and I made huge progress in just the first lesson!
Perfect! She gives a Clear, logical, simple and precise instructions to me, to go about playing and how to read music notes, by pencilling them notes for guidance.
Perfect! Bel is a very understanding, patient, and simply an amazing piano teacher since day one!
As an adult beginner, playing piano - or even sitting infront of the piano - for the first time was intimidating.
Bel, however, made my first time fun and less overwhelming! She is very flexible, encouraging and adapted so well with my learning style (and knows what is the best approach for it).
Our sessions are always packed with lots of knowledge, insights, and laugher, and I NEVER felt silly or intimidated at all.
I’ve learnt so much from Bel in just a span of few weeks, and although I know I’ve still got a long way to go, I know I’ll be just fine cause Bel is always there to guide me through it. I always find myself looking forward to our weekly lessons! :)
